You are cordially invited to an exciting performance of music, dance, art work, painting, video, and poetry, a multimedia extravaganza, on Friday, October 6th, 2023 at 6:00 PM in the spacious Diablo Room at the Hillside Clubhouse, Rossmoor, Walnut Creek. This special event will feature composers Dwight Stone and Jennie Landfield (Rossmoor residents!), Christopher Johnson, David Thomas Roberts, Mary Fineman, Ted Holmes, Doug McKechnie, Lauren De Boer, Daniel Zwickel, and Tania Heeb. Flutist Nika Rejto, poet and composer Michael Smolens, and renowned Isadora Duncan dancer Lois Flood will perform on the program. Artwork by Marilyn Mattson will be displayed. The evening promises a unique and immersive experience, showcasing the diverse talents of many artists. Music, dance, poetry and visual art will be woven together to create a truly unforgettable evening.

The composers featured in the concert are highly respected in their fields. Dwight Stone, a Rossmoor resident, has written music for a variety of genres, including chamber music, orchestral music, choir, voice, and piano. Jennie Landfield is a composer and performer who is known for her improvisation and innovative approach to music and multimedia. Christopher Johnson is a composer whose music is jazz-informed, and has been described as "lyrical and dramatic, with a subtle touch." David Thomas Roberts is a composer, poet, and painter whose Neo-Romantic music is inspired by locales and experiences with American roots. Roberts is widely known for his compositions of contemporary rag-time. Mary Fineman is a celebrated East-Bay singer-songwriter often featured with the Oakland Symphony and in numerous venues.

Nika Rejto is a flutist of international acclaim, known for her virtuosity and expressive interpretations. An exemplar of jazz improvisation, she has performed as a soloist and chamber musician in the United States and Europe, and has recorded extensively, notably the album Amsterdam with Dwight Stone, composer.

Lois Flood is a renowned Isadora Duncan dancer and teacher. She has performed extensively throughout the United States, and currently performs and teaches dance and movement locally and at prestigious institutions.

This concert will also serve as a farewell to Jennie Landfield, a longtime Rossmoor resident who will be departing Rossmoor at the end of the year for a journey to India and beyond.... This will also double as a birthday celebration for Dwight Stone, who marks another orbit around the sun on October 4th.
