Stone Songwriting Initiative
Let Music Ignite a Brighter Future!
Conceived by Dwight Stone, Chair of Composers Today of the Contra Costa Chapter of the Music Teachers Association of California (CC-MTAC) we offer this project to further the dialogue, and encourage the creation of new anthems of hope, resilience, and positive change! We hope to spawn many new original songs (lyrics & music) that explore themes of "Healing our Society":
- Change for the better
- Hope & renewal
- Reconciliation
- Unity & diversity
- Human evolution & growth
- Paradigm shifts & new beginnings
- Love conquering all
- Listening to each other respectfully
- Taking the high road & doing what's right

Ready to Submit Your Song?
Here's how to enter the Stone Songwriting Event:
- Register
- **Create your original song:** Make sure your song aligns with the competition themes (lyrics & music must be original).
- Record a video of a live performance of your song. (must be from a live recording with a singer)
- **Upload your song to YouTube:**
- Send the link to Dwight Stone, stonemusique@gmail.com
- Entries will be evaluated by three judges.
- English versions preferred; additional languages optional
- Provide lyrics, preferably a score or lead sheet.
- Choral arrangements are optional; we are principally looking for Songs.
